NIKOLAI CHARLES is itching to get back into the first-class cricket arena.

After a five-year absence, the 30-year-old leg-spinner has been named in Barbados Pride’s 13-member squad for the first round Digicel Regional Four-day match against Leeward Islands Hurricanes starting on Friday.

Speaking to NATIONSPORT at the Police Sports Club, Weymouth, last Saturday he said he was extremely excited to be recalled to the team after such a lengthy period.

“I am pretty much excited. I never gave up on playing for Barbados. I told a lot of my teammates that if I didn’t play for Barbados soon, that was it for me in terms of playing club cricket,” he said. (RG)
