FOR THE FOURTH time Leslie “Hero” Ward has pulled bathers from treacherous waters at Silver Sands, Christ Church.

He is breathing a sigh of relief having saved a teenage boy Sunday from a brush with death, but is sad that he was unable to save Simeon Morris, 17, a student of the Christ Church Foundation School.

Morris was attending a friend’s family reunion at the beach when he was knocked over by a wave and subsequently drowned.

Ward, who is in his 50s, said that earlier that day he was at home and was weirdly overcome with emotion and he decided to clear his head with a walk to the beach. (MR)
