FOR THE second time in three years, Josh Read has won the champion driver’s title in the Motoring Club Barbados.

The new champion ended the season with 210 points, comfortably ahead of John Corbin and Andrew Jones, who were tied with 177 points in second place, followed by Trevor “Mappus” Mapp, who ended with 171 points and Dane Skeete on 144.

“I am ready for next year, but it was due to the sterling work of my ‘works crew’ that placed me on the top of the podium and I am very happy for that,” Read said.

The champ said that he had the easiest part, that was to drive the car, but his sponsors Sprite/Stihl/Gliptone/Hankook/Weetabix/Chutney’s/Urban Kitchen/Cell Hut/Cockspur and the many fans all played their part. (TT)
