Title-hunting Chargers block All Stars

CHARGERS REMAINED in the hunt for the Goddard Enterprises Limited Division 1 volleyball men’s title when the league action continued Wednesday night at Oldbury, St Philip.

Chargers eased away from champions Flow Deacons by shutting down All Stars 25-22, 20-25, 25-21, 25-21 to move to 32 points with three games in hand. Deacons have 27 points with the same number of matches in hand.

The one point gained by All Stars helped them to ten, two points away from cellar occupants Foundation United. However, newcomers All Stars have two remaining matches, while Foundation have four.

Barbados Bearings/W. Gittens Landscaping Progressive, remained in contention by mowing down Cawmere’s pre-season promise with a four-set defeat. (KB)
