NOT EVEN the brilliance of Jalon Samuel, who won three races on Ansa Mcal Racing Festival/Winter Jockeys Challenge Raceday, could save Team Barbados from conceding defeat yesterday to the visiting team from Britain in the fourth Jockeys’ Challenge at the Garrison Savannah.

The international team, led by Martin Dwyer, scored 96 points to the home team’s 69.

However, Samuel was seen at his ominous best, landing two of the afternoon’s three features on the soft track.

He displayed impeccable patience aboard a rejuvenated Just A Fashion, who stormed past Daunting David in the homestretch to capture the Ansa Mcal Barbados Limited Stakes and Trophy (CR) over 1 570 metres.
