Hawks in Premier League

DAYRELLS ROAD has another team in the top flight now.

They took just one season, but Hilton Hawks are heading to the Premier League, having survived Executive Air Dover Chargers’ three-point barrage before pulling out yesterday’s 89-88 Game 3 thriller in the First Division basketball finals.

It was arguably the game of the season, with Hawks needing every second of the decider at the Barbados Community College to book their spot in the big leagues alongside neighbours Warriors.

“Honestly, I am actually excited as a first-time team to come and do things that other established teams couldn’t for years in trying to get into the Premier League,” said player and coach Tremaine Shaw. (JM)
