Mia: Govt’s call

THE ONUS MUST BE on Government to resolve the current industrial relations impasse with the National Union of Public Workers (NUPW).

Additionally, Opposition Leader Mia Mottleyhas warned against allowing what she calleda climate of intimidation against the country’s labour leaders to prevail.

Mottley made her stance clear yesterday as she spoke at the monthly Barbados Chamber of Commerce Industry/Axcel Finance Business Luncheon at Hilton Barbados.

“On this current dispute with the NUPW and the Government, the Government has a fundamental duty to get involved and to stop what is going on, and to urgently resolve it rather than letting these matters fester,” Mottley said during her feature address. (AD)
