SO FAR, so good.
Apparently the big 50th Anniversary Independence Games have gone better than expected, as the Barbados Olympic Association (BOA) has received the complete buy-in from most of the 22 national federations involved in the multi-sport championships.
Chairman of the Games, BOA director Lieutenant Colonel Trevor Browne admitted the event had exceeded his initial expectations after seeing huge turnouts in netball, shooting and the championships’ beach games over the weekend.
“We are very pleased so far. It has actually gone past what we anticipated for the first time we’re doing it as the turnout has been quite good and the organisation has been great. So generally, we’re very pleased with what is going on,” said Browne. (JM)
