PATRONS WERE DRESSED up to the nines for the gala opening night of the Independence musical theatrical production Mirror, Mirror, Show Me A Hero at the Frank Colllymore Hall last week.
There were shades of the early days of the upscale entertainment centre when patrons would don their finest to attend events at the Frank Collymore Hall and all the splendoUr associated with a big evening social engagement would be in evidence.
The futuristic play written by Shakirah Bourne and produced by Alison Sealy-Smith, paid tribute to Barbados’ first female Governor General Dame Nita Barrow.
Among Dame Nita’s relatives spotted in the foyer during the pre-show reception were nephews David Barrow, son of National Hero the Rt Excellent Errol Barrow, and Anthony Barrow, as well as Dame Nita’s cousin, architect Robert O’Neale.
Prime Minister Freundel Stuart was also there with some members of his Cabinet as well as many familiar faces from the arts community.
