ONE OF THE MEN who has become a historical Independence figure has issued some sobering advice to Barbadians.
Hartley Dottin, the young soldier who raised the Barbados Flag for the first time when Independence was achieved 50 years ago, wants residents to cut out the divisive politics, saying it was not good for the country.
He said he was a firm believer that everyone could make a difference, and that Barbadians had something for which they could be truly proud.
He gave the inspirational words moments after he, along with Sir Philip Greaves, accepted citations from the Democratic Labour Party (DLP) on Saturday night at the party’s headquarters. (WILLCOMM)
