BARBADIANS CAN AGAIN utilise the Pine, St Michael location of the Barbados Revenue Authority for licensing payments after a substantial renovation of the facility over the past several months.
The Barbados Revenue Authority (BRA) reopened its Pine doors today to grateful taxpayers after an almost eight–month closure of the building to facilitate an upgrade to the infrastructure.
The BRA’s communications officer Erica Lazare expressed her pleasure that the renovation has been completed as the public will finally have access to a better version of the popular Pine branch.
“We are very pleased to have reopened our Pine office as we have made structural upgrades to improve staff and customer comfort. It is an important geographical location for many Barbadians for their licensing services and will be a welcome re-addition to our payment centres.”
“We know that the temporary Pine relocation to Oistins was a significant adjustment to those persons who were accustomed to using the Pine for their licensing transactions and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their patience over the past several months,” she said.
With the Pine reopening, the Authority again has its full complement of six payment branches across the island and will allow for more convenience for taxpayers. The Treasury Building, Weymouth Corporate Centre, Holetown, Warrens and Oistins locations will continue to take payments for all taxes, including licensing.
“With the Pine being available, taxpayers will have six different branches for licensing payments from which to choose and this availability of choice is part of the BRA’s effort to become more customer centric.”
“We have also made sure that there are card payment facilities available at all of our payment centres, while our Holetown and Treasury payment offices are currently opening at 7:30 a.m. to accommodate those persons who want to make payments a bit earlier”.
The Barbados Licensing Authority’s drivers’ licence card printing centres at the Pine and Oistins locations will remain open as normal. (PR)
