TEAMMATES, double partners but yet fierce rivals in badminton singles.
That was the setting for the men’s badminton final in the Barbados Olympic Association’s 50th Anniversary Independence Games at the Barbados Community College, where Corey Fanus clashed with Dakeil Thorpe on Sunday night.
Fanus eventually conquered in three sets 21-12, 14-21, 22-20 in a match that had its fair share of ebb and flow between the two top seeds.
No. 1 Fanus controlled the first set from the start and never looked troubled by an opponent who later conceded that his body “was a bit cold”. (AT)
