WITH THE WINTER tourist season officially starting next week, Barbados seems set to have another mass influx of British visitors.
New information from the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) has revealed a 21 per cent increase in “winter holiday bookings” by Brits to Barbados and the Caribbean.
There were fears that the United Kingdom’s decision to leave the European Union would have caused budget-conscious British nationals to lose their appetite for vacation travel to destinations like Barbados.
However, ABTA, which is the UK’s largest travel association, said its “research” had found that “as the winter holiday season gets under way, winter holiday bookings are up 16 per cent year on year”. (SC)
