DEFENDING CHAMPIONS Christ Church East Central will be making an unprecedented third appearance in the final of the David Thompson Memorial Constituency Councils Football Classic after completing a thrilling 2-1 semi-final win over City of Bridgetown at Gall Hill, St John, on Sunday.
Their opponents in Sunday’s championship match will be St George South, who, through a typically dogged display, will be making their trip to Kensington Oval for the first time after they also edged St Michael South 2-1.
Christ Church East Central, buoyed by the return of captain Jamal Chandler after the No. 10 missed the quarter-finals, were the quicker out of the blocks and dominated much of the early possession and chances.
It was no surprise when they took the lead as early as the sixth minute. (ML)
