DEAR CHRISTINE, Please permit me some space in your column to express myself.
There is a young woman whom I admire day after day but I find it hard to go up to her and at least give her my name.
This woman catches the Pine/Wildey route vans. I get a chance to see her because I also ride on that route on my way home. I live in Upper Collymore Rock.
She does not wear a uniform with a crest so I have no idea where she works. She is usually quiet, is probably between the ages of 30 and 36 and mostly wears her hair in one.
She is of a dark completion, attractive and is always nicely dressed. On some occasions she is accompanied by a young girl, whom I’ve learned is her niece.
Christine, I long to introduce myself to her one day, but I am very shy and don’t want her to dismiss me. What can I do to get her attention? Chances are, she may have a boyfriend and that concerns me a bit also. She may not be interested in me. Help, please!
– M.K.
Dear M.K.,
If you sometimes catch the same minibus home, I’m thinking that would be a great opportunity to strike up a conversation with this woman whom you are admiring from a distance. As long as you are not stalking her, I see no harm in you doing just what I have said.
It may seem odd at first, but there are lots of things you can find to talk about, as long as you at least strike up that conversation.
I wish you success.
