SIX RIDERS took centre stage last weekend when the Barbados Equestrian Association (BEA) Fédération Equestre Internationale World Jumping Challenge continued with the second leg at the Whitehall Equestrian Centre, St Peter.

The seven equines entered in the competition passed the test with flying colours.

This year the BEA shared the contest with the Barbados Olympic Association in celebrating Barbados’ 50th anniversary of Independence.

Veteran rider Sara Jones, the lone competitor in Category B, with a height of 1.20 metres, recovered from a shaky start in round one aboard her gelding Sir Glacken, to squeeze into the second round. (RA/PR)
