AS AUTHORITIES STRUGGLE to deal with the fallout from a suspected sewerage system leak on the South Coast, the umbrella body for hotels and others in the tourism industry has hit out at the poor level of communication.
Chairman of the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association (BHTA), Roseanne Myers, did not make specific reference to the situation that has triggered the closure of Worthing Beach and generated negative publicity.
However, she did point to problems involving “a sewerage system” and others that had not been dealt with properly.
In her address at the quarterly meeting of the BHTA at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre yesterday, she accused agencies of not communicating effectively and ignoring and resorting to denials before addressing the concerns frontally. (WILLCOMM)
