WHILE THE SEWAGE leak that affected the island’s South Coast might be out of sight, for some businesses the problem is definitely not out of mind.
Scorching sunlight for the past week has helped to evaporate some of the water that had previously been overflowing from sewage covers, producing a putrid smell and causing major inconvenience.
However, business owners yesterday said they were concerned that it may just be a matter of time before the problem returns.
Duty manager at Lucky Horseshoe Saloon and Steakhouse, Kerry Sawh, told the WEEKEND NATION she was fearful that whenever the island was hit by heavy rains again, the sewage problem they had been battling for the past month would recur. (RB)
