THE MAINTENANCE contractor of the Six Roads Market where pig farmers are unable to have their meat cut in time for Christmas, says he is to blame, not the Government.
Deighton Harper said that two months ago after evaluating two pieces of equipment he took them to be repaired within weeks of each other and expected them back before the busy yuletide season set in.
However, when that did not happen, on Tuesday he collected one piece of equipment and took it to another repair company.
“I want to let the public know that the issue wasn’t the Government not trying to get the equipment up and running and if anybody should be accountable or responsible it should be me,” he said. (AC)
