SIR DAVID SEALE’S Daunting David scored a shock upset yesterday at the Garrison Savannah when the Barbados Turf Club staged the BTC Racing Fraternity Race Day in good to firm conditions.
The least fancied of the four-horse field, the bay horse was given a peach of a ride by former champion jockey Anderson Trotman as he showcased flashes of brilliance to land a brace on the programme.
A back-marker up until the home turn, Daunting David was awarded plenty of real estate along the rail.
Inside the final furlong, leader Lucky Adventure, under jockey Jalon Samuel, opted for the middle of the track with favourite Wild Cat Tea, partnered by Rickey Walcott, challenging for the lead.
