Water problems hit BHL

BANKS? EXACTLY. PRESIDENTE? Not right now.

Banks Holdings Limited (BHL) has been forced to suspend the manufacturing of Presidente Beer, which is aimed for the Cuban market, because of continued water pressure issues at its bottling plant in Newton, Christ Church.

Chief executive officer of BHL, Richard Cozier, told the SUNDAY SUN the company had been kept in the loop by the Ministry of Water Resource Management regarding the water issues surrounding parts of Christ Church in and around Newton and Kingsland, but the company was still forced to make a decision regarding the export of Presidente.

Cozier revealed that in recent months water pressure in the area was so low the Banks plant had water issues for a three-day period and was unable to bottle the special beer for export.
