THE STATE OF Barbadian roads is no laughing matter.
Vehicle owners have been reporting hundreds of dollars in damages to tyres, rims and suspensions when they fall victim to these road traps.
But some people have chosen to see the lighter side of Barbadian potholes. Pictures of some of the most dangerous predators and where to spot them have been appearing on social media under the names #potholesinparadise and Potholes of Barbados.
But photographer Simon Victor has gone a step further, combining a bit of humour with his posts.
“My interest was piqued when I saw a guy on Facebook with a really beautiful photograph of a pothole. It looked like it was around sunset,” Victor told NATION Online.
While discussing the issue with a friend, they decided to take pictures, but wanted to do a bit more. Victor used his son’s hotwheel car in the picture.
“I put an object in it to put some humour and the scale. We are trying to raise awareness about potholes, but we wanted to combined the cause with tongue-in-cheek art.”
