JOANNA ASTLEY’s dreams of having a happy family have now been shattered.
The 28-year-old said her life took a sudden change from the time she received the devastating news around 5 p.m. last October 17, that her boyfriend of three years, Edward Watson (below), had been gunned down earlier that day, while working at a Christ Church private residence.
The Dominican-born Watson, 48, who came to Barbados ten years ago in search of a better quality life, was shot around 1:45 p.m. while working at a house in Golden Plover Road, Inch Marlow, Christ Church. His body was discovered in the patio with gunshot wounds to the chest and leg.
Holding on to their eight-month-old daughter Keturah during an interview with the DAILY NATION this past week, Joanna said she was now packing up her belongings to return to her homeland Jamaica sometime this week, because the main breadwinner of the household was lost to a gun crime.
