THE DAE FINALLY CAME.
Spoken word artist Adaeze’s release party was well attended at the Mews last Saturday and she said it was a relief to finally get the project to an audience.
“I am so happy for the turnout,” she said.
The mixed crowd showed their support for the release of the self-penned, self-produced Dae 1 and were given a performance by Adaeze who said she had to give thanks to God for her gift.
“Sometimes I myself don’t know where I get the lyrics from. I just find myself writing. He gives me the words to say. I don’t have to look far for them. I use everyday stuff that is going on and also what I would like to see happening.
“I felt that a lot of people were just hungry for something to feed their spirit. You can get any kind of music all the time but when you are going through either happy or hard times, you want something to speak to that so that is the type of music I try to make.
Adaeze said more will be coming for 2017.
“It will be about perfecting the show, getting the show a lot cleaner and bigger. Then taking the project around the world.”
Adaeze has travelled to California, Mexico and Brazil among other nations, and said it was quite an experience in Brazil.
“The people were so warm and friendly. The energy was amazing. It reaffirmed the fact that art, love, music is a universal thing,” she said. (NS)
