THE YMCA may have been demolished, but next season won’t be wrecked as a result.
Barbados Amateur Basketball Association (BABA) president Derrick Garrett doesn’t foresee any challenges if the Pinfold Street venue is unavailable after disclosing that the Premier League won’t be played at the YMCA even in the absence of the Wildey Gym.
Garrett made the comments just days after the derelict 135-year-old YMCA building was pushed down to make way for a car park.
“We only intend to play lower division games there, so if the court is unavailable at any point I expect the impact would be minimal because lower division games can be staged outdoors on a number of courts,” explained Garrett. (JM)
