AN EVENING of nostalgia and for a just cause.
All roads lead to the National Stadium tomorrow evening for two benefit matches in honour of one of Barbados’ best ever footballers, Keith “Grell” Griffith, who is seeking assistance to get back on his feet.
Griffith, a diabetic, recently lost his right leg and is in the process of purchasing a prosthesis.
Some of this country’s finest players of yesteryear, including Anthony “Daisy” Clarke, Gregory “Lalu” Goodridge, Ricardo “Cracker” Goddard, Norman Forde, Adrian Hall, Wayne O’Neale, Colin “Potato” Forde, Llewellyn Riley, John “Nobby” Parris and Michael King are taking part in the benefit match.
Clarke, one of the stars of the 1980s, and arguably the most skilful playmaker of his time, told the SATURDAY SUN he was looking forward to playing for Griffith, who had several stints as national coach.
