PHYSICAL EDUCATION teachers at schools involved in this year’s National Primary Schools Athletic Championships (NAPSAC) believe that not staging a competition in 2017 would put a dent in what has been accomplished so far.
During a meeting just over a week ago coaches and teachers were confronted with the possibility that due to a lack of finances the competition may be dropped from next year’s sporting calendar.
Coach Roderick Harmon of West Terrace Primary, winners of the girl’s title, said if the cancellation came to fruition it would be a huge calamity.
“If it is a reality that we will not have a championship next year that will be close to a tragedy. That’s one of the sports disciplines the children definitely look forward to every year,” Harmon told SUNSPORT.
