St Michael woman charged with importing five guns

A WOMAN IS expected to appear in court today accused of importing five firearms into Barbados. She is 29-year-old Skye Yasmin Lecreta Murray of Perry Gap, Roebuck Street, St Michael.

According to police, Murray went to the Bridgetown Port on December 15 to clear a barrel labelled personal effects.During a search by Customs officers, five disassembled firearms were allegedly discovered concealed among food stuff.

The matter was reported to police and Murray was taken into custody and subsequently arrested and formally charged with importation of firearms, and possession of firearms.

She is expected to appear in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court. (PR/NB)
