SOME SOUTH COAST business people are waiting with bated breath over promises made by the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) and tourism officials to fix the sewerage problems.

At a press conference last Saturday, the BWA revealed it would be undertaking a $2 million repair programme to replace four effluent pumps and 18 diffusers that had been severely affecting the sewerage system. It would be funded by the Barbados Tourism Investment Inc and take ten weeks to complete – eight weeks to import the parts and two weeks to install them.

He explained that his problems began from back in 2015 when he first complained to the BWA. (TSG)
