CALYPSO SINGER CONTONE debuted what he said was an upcoming track Tomorrow to an audience in the Criminal Court No. 1 yesterday.

The Who Brek My Bottle and My Car Brek Down singer, whose real name is Derrick Anderson Anthony Brathwaite, pleaded guilty to having cocaine apparatus on December 19.

Before the 41-year-old who has no fixed address actually admitted to the charge, he excitedly asked the court’s permission to pay a fine. He told the court he was awaiting royalties from his past songs and as he rambled on and on, Magistrate Douglas Frederick told him, “you talking too fast and sing just as fast”.

Station Sergeant Rudy Pilgrim said police saw Brathwaite in Graeme Hall, Christ Church and had reason to speak to him.  (TKS)
