THE annual Christmas Dominoes In The City is set to slam off today in Rickett Street with the three-hand knockout team tournament from 7 p.m.
A first prize of $2 000 is at stake, with $1 000 for second place and $600 for third position.
Following the conclusion of this tournament tomorrow night, there will be the three-hand pull-a-rama on Boxing Day starting at 10 a.m. The winner will receive $1 000, the runner-up $600 and the third place finisher $400.
A first prize of $1000 is also on offer for the winner of the four-hand pull-a-rama, which will be played on Tuesday from 10 a.m. with $600 for second; $400 for third and $300 for fourth place.
There will also be a 13-hand tonk competition on the same day, with $500 going to the winner and $300 to the runner-up.
All players are asked to pay their registration fee of $100 per team in the three-hand team competition as soon as possible so that the draw for the zones can be made ahead of the first night of action.
There will be lots of prizes and giveaways each night, while the grand prize of a 50-inch flat screen television will be made on the final night on Tuesday. (EZS)
