MATTHEW FOSTER-ESTWICK couldn’t have made a better case for himself.

The Davis Cup squad may have another new addition after the Hampton University player staked his claim for selection by outlasting Seanon Williams in yesterday’s final of the BTA Invitational at the Barbados Tennis Centre.

With new captain Damien Applewhaite and world No. 152 Darian King looking on, Foster-Estwick clearly sent a message by holding on for a three-hour 7-6(5), 7-6(9) thriller over the Davis Cup veteran.

It was the second time in four days that Foster-Estwick got the better of a more seasoned rival, somewhat mirroring last year’s gruelling three-set victory at this same tournament.
