CENTRAL BANK GOVERNOR Dr De Lisle Worrell and his staff celebrated “a year of outstanding achievement” at the bank’s annual Christmas party at Hilton Barbados last weekend.
Dr Worrell delivered his annual Christmas message in a video presentation in which he highlighted achievements and outstanding events such as this year’s Sir Winston Scott Memorial Lecture delivered by Dr Richard Drayton.
The comedy duo Rum And Coke set the mood of an evening when Central Bank workers and their guests donned their finest. Attractive, young, talented female saxophonist Kelly-Ann Patrick blew guests away and some were seen swooning to the evergreen Christmas classics. At times she set aside the sax to caress them with a unique voice that bore shades of the greats of the Broadway stage of yesterday.
Amid the celebrating, the spotlight was focused on Clovine Roach, a former clerical officer who was honoured for her 40 years’ contribution to the bank where she has since risen to the position of senior currency officer. (GC)
