Barbados’ top-ranked tennis pro Darian King is the NATION’S Sports Personality Of The Year, having received a unanimous vote from the SUNSPORT desk.
It’s in recognition of a truly historic year, in which the 24-year-old soared to a career-high No. 130 in the world, became the first Bajan tennis player to appear at the Olympics and won three ATP Challenger titles.
All that’s left for King to win now is the National Sports Council’s equivalent of the award, which will be presented sometime later this month. (BN)
