TENANTS of National Housing Corporation (NHC) units should incur greater costs as a result of vandalism, says Minister of Housing and Lands Denis Kellman.

He also suggested that the ministry may seek to recoup finances lost due to malicious property damages.

His comments came in response to a complaint from a resident of Building 2 in Valery, St Michael, where there were incidents of vandalism. Elijah Tafari said a single button of the defaced elevator in Building 2 was repaired since he voiced his concerns earlier this month.

“It is something that we cannot ignore because if we are subsiding rent for people, then they have to appreciate it,” Kellman told the SUNDAY SUN. (LT)
