Water steady for the holidays

RESIDENTS OF many of the areas hit by water outages around Christmas 2015 are smiling because they have had running water over the last few weeks.

From St Lucy and St Peter in the north to St Joseph in the east, they shared happy and optimistic stories, but some are being proactive and have invested in water tanks and continue to store water just in case it goes off again.

Cheryl Goodridge, of Sugar Hill, St Joseph, said she had water for the Christmas period and was happy, but was being cautious and invested in two water tanks. One with an 800-gallon capacity was already at her home, while the other was on its way.

“I am not making that kind of sport; I ain’t lifting ’bout no water no more,” she said. (LK)
