BOCA JUNIORS, featuring three of Barbados’ most lethal strikers, won the Rondell “Crash” Pollard Football Tournament at the Ellerton playing field on Monday night.
Premier League footballers Armando Lashley, Dwayne Stanford and Arantees Lawrence, who have all represented Barbados’ senior national team, were on target in Boca Juniors’ thrilling 4-3 victory over Gaza Football Club in the final.
Lashley opened the scoring for Boca Juniors in the 40th minute, scoring arguably the goal of the tournament with a 18-yard scorcher.
Haldayne Payne doubled the 1-0 half-time lead in the 70th minute, heading home a long throw from just beyond the penalty spot. (RG)
