Stoute, Wiggins lead the way

CAPTAIN Kevin Stoute and the recalled Ryan Wiggins hit half-centuries in the first cricket trial match yesterday as Barbados Pride started their preparations for the Regional Super50 One-Day Cup.

Playing at the North Stars, Crab Hill ground in St Lucy against the Shamarh Brooks’ XI, Stoute’s team won by 28 runs.

Stoute batted fluently in a captain’s knock of 81 off 89 at No.3 as his team amassed 253 for eight off 50 overs after they were sent in.

He stroked seven fours and two sixes, while Wiggins hit seven fours and a six in a solid 72 off 95 deliveries. The pair featured in a fourth-wicket partnership of 135 runs in 24.4 overs. (EZS)
