A JAMAICAN woman is heartbroken and struggling for funds to fly her mother’s body from Barbados back home for burial.
The family of Hyacinth Mendez (below), 59, of Richmond Gap, St Michael, who died on Christmas Day due to colon cancer, do not have enough money to fly the body to Jamaica.
Daughter Nickesha Fraser is in Barbados seeing after the affairs of her mother and said the ordeal was made worse since she and her sisters did not even know their mother was sick.
“The family is not coping well. My mother was here sick and none of us knew and by the time we did, it was too late,” she said, fighting tears. (CA)
