ALL STARS RECEIVED a post-Christmas gift that volleyball teams can only dream about when the Goddard Enterprises Limited senior men’s volleyball knockouts served off on Thursday night at Oldbury, St Philip.

All Stars pulled off a shocking win over Flow Deacons 25-14, 25-19, 23-25, 13-25, 15-12.

One would have to go back almost two decades to find Deacons, the most successful men’s volleyball team, losing an opener in any competition.

This is All Stars’ first season in Division One and they created a significant ripple in the knockouts, which could spell danger for the other teams. The round robin set-up of the knockouts still gives Deacons a chance to make the play-offs.
