TWELVE of the licensed 81 clubs registered with the Barbados Football Association are likely to be penalised with the deduction of six points for failing to parade during Sunday’s awards presentation and opening ceremony at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex.
But the 69 clubs who showed up wereresplendent in their club colours.
According to Digicel’s director of marketing Carolyn Shepherd, the game of football opens doors to professional opportunities and personal development and also opens the hearts of people and evoke a community spirit like no other.
“It is this spirit that brings us all together today, and I want to encourage you to display the level of spirit that is [palatable] to everyone attending the games. My message to the players is to be mindful of the example displayed on and off the field, at this the highest level of football locally,” she said during her address. (RA)
