Lions Club marks 100 years of service

AS THE LIONS Club International prepares to celebrate 100 years of existence, the Barbados chapter is preparing to do exactly what its motto says: serve.

Speaking yesterday at the Lions Leo Clubs centennial anniversary church service at St Matthews Anglican Church, Lions Club zonal chairman Shonda Forde explained the history of the club.

Under the motto We Serve, she noted that Lion Clubs worldwide had reached their goal of serving 100 million people worldwide within their 100-year anniversary.

And to celebrate that milestone, Forde announced that the local clubs would be reaching out to vulnerable sections of Barbadian society and giving back next week. (AD)
