HEALTH OFFICIALS may be fighting a losing battle if they push forward with their plan to display graphic images showing the harmful effects on smoking on cigarette boxes.
Some smokers and non-smokers aren’t sure this move will act as a deterrent to those who puff away on the tobacco sticks.
Minister of Health John Boyce said cigarette smoking and the labelling of tobacco products were two of the outstanding items to come under the scrutiny of Parliament very soon.
He disclosed it was also expected to be the subject of the ministry’s management discussion earlier this week.
