IN A YEAR AND A HALF, Republic Bank (Barbados) should have a new branch in Warrens, St Michael.
Managing director and chief executive officer Ian De Souza turned the sod yesterday on the $30 million project called One Republic Place.
The six-storey building will house the bank’s retail branch and premium banking centre, and include basement parking, with the top three floors open to other tenants.
The site is located next to the bank’s current branch in the Warrens Office Complex.
The project is expected to be completed by July 2018, creating 250 temporary jobs. However, De Souza said they had no plans to increase bank staff in the short term. (CA)
