Christ Church woman on money laundering charge gets bail

A 39-YEAR-OLD woman charged with money laundering in connection to $185 740 was released on bail today.

Dawn Latrecia Taylor-Burgess of 14B Maloney Drive, Chancery Lane North, Christ Church was not required to plead to the indictable charges when she went before the Criminal Court No.1 of the District “A” Magistrates’ Court.

She is charged with stealing the money belonging to Premier Events Services between August 2 and November 18, 2013 and engaging in money laundering in relation to the same money, the proceeds of crime. The prosecution is alleging that the accused took the money from her former employer.

Magistrate Douglas Frederick granted Taylor-Burgess bail in the sum of $100 000 with two sureties and ordered her passport confiscated. She will return to court on Monday.
