AFTER HE WAS caught in a lie about the woman he stabbed more than three years ago, Dario Ramana Stuart was jailed for a year.
Stuart, 24, of 5th Avenue, Peterkin Road, Bank Hall, St Michael, started by telling the court that he was guilty of maliciously wounding Katrina Alexander, of Manning Land, also in Bank Hall, on December 21, 2013. However, since then they had become friends and he was supporting and taking care of his child, whom he even took to his home regularly, Stuart said.
He was rebutting the prosecution’s account that they were living at Alexander’s cousin and had quarrelled over money owed.
Alexander awoke to hear Stuart pacing and mumbling and later that same night, she found him standing over her bed with a knife, Sergeant Rudy Pilgrim said. (TKS)
