SEVEN-YEAR-OLD bay mare Nekitta confirmed that her Boxing Day success over the top class was no fluke, as she upstaged a similar field in the Coolmore “Home Of Champion” Stakes & Trophy over 1 800 metres at the Garrison Savannah yesterday.
After the break, the Mark Armstrong charge sat mid-pack on the good-to-firm conditions while Infrared and Daunting David sorted out the early fractions.
As the field came under the finish line first time around, Daunting David took control of the pace, relegating Infrared to second position.
Gold Cup winner Dorsett, who spotted the field five lengths at the start, raced in company with Princess Tiana at the back. Daunting David and Infrared once again became involved in a riveting contest for the lead as the mile came up in a reasonable 1:41.2. (LY)
