QUICK ACTION by staff of the pastry shop at Cobblers Cove Hotel, St Peter averted a possible disaster this morning.

When personnel from the Barbados Fire Service responded the small pan fire was already extinguished.

General manager Will Oakley confirmed that there was a fire and that the firemen were called as a precaution.

“I wish to applaud my team for the way they handled both themselves and putting into practice the fire training that they had and were able to ensure that this didn’t escalate into something larger…” he said. (JS)
