Dems acting ‘in best interest of country’

MINISTER OF FINANCE Chris Sinckler has vowed that the Government would continue to take decisions “that we believe are in the best interest of the country”.

That was his response in the House of Assembly yesterday in the wake of the latest report by the Central Bank governor on the state of the island’s economy.

He blasted Opposition Leader Mia Mottley for leading a walkout of Barbados Labour Party colleagues from the House yesterday afternoon.

Sinckler denounced the Opposition MPs’ interpretation of the Central Bank report, arguing that the press release did not suggest that wages be cut. (WILLCOMM)
