AG’s exit upsets fire officers

FIREFIGHTERS WERE hot under the collar yesterday after missing a chance to confront Attorney General and Minister of Home Affairs Adriel Brathwaite with a list of complaints.

A punctual Brathwaite left the Solidarity House, Harmony Hall, St Michael venue for the Barbados Fire Service Association’s annual general meeting yesterday after waiting half an hour for the 10 a.m. event to start.

Fire officers had hoped to address several key issues with Brathwaite, who was unavailable for the last annual general meeting, but that was not to be since prior to the late start the minister left.

Brathwaite arrived early for the meeting but left after waiting in an almost empty room. When the event eventually got going around 11 a.m. there were about 50 fire officers present. (CA)
